FLOWERS UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL
Date: Saturday, March 22
Time: 1:00 to 3:00 pm
Location: Maynard Ecology Center
Basement of Neville Place
650 Concord Avenue, Cambridge
Flowers are among Nature’s most astonishing creations.
Flowering plants have a reproductive advantage that
has allowed them to dominate the world. Humans and
many other animals are dependent for their survival on
the food these plants produce. We will condense the
history of plant evolution for you, talk about how
flower parts developed from earlier plant structures,
and examine the parts of real flowers. Then we will
look outside for trees in flower on the Reservation.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Children are welcome in the company of an adult.
