CALENDAR of SPRING CLEANUPS in
the Mystic River Watershed

Spring Cleaning in the Mystic has begun - so far, there are 19 cleanups to choose from between now and May 23rd. (There will probably be others scheduled - check our website: www.mysticriver.org for the lastest listings.) So dig out your old clothes and shoes, come to as many of them as you would like, and help make a difference in the watershed. (Please note: many of the cleanups offer refreshments & gloves or bags to use - but it might be a good idea to bring some water, work gloves, and a rake or something that extends out into the water. Please wear old shoes.) We will be holding a press conference on Saturday, April 24th at 12:30pm at the Boys and Girls Club / Blessing of the Bay Boathouse, 32 Shore Dr., Somerville, as part of our cleanup. We are inviting local officials to voice their support of all the cleanups in the watershed. We look forward to seeing you! Mystic River Watershed Association 781-316-3438.

Bring work gloves and some eye protection for working in the brush. Like many recreational urban waterways, Mystic Lakes get a lot of trash, which degrades the experience of those who use them, including us. So here's a chance to give back to the community for the facilities we enjoy, improve our and everybody's experience of Mystic Lake, and help the public image of NSPN in the process. Last year we blew away the MDC with the amount of trash we collected, and we aim to beat that this year! Contact: djlewis@triadic.com Sponsored by North Shore Paddlers' Network (NSPN).
