Original Plan and Proposal for the eradication project

Volunteers needed

Do you like being on the water? Don't mind getting your hands wet? Want to help rid the Mystic of bad neighbors? No, not people, we're talking about water chestnuts. We need help pulling these weeds from the water where they grow uncontrollably and choke out other plant and aquatic life.

The good news is pulling water chestnuts carefully gets rid of them. The work will be performed this summer. It helps to have a boat, but we may be able to take hitchhikers. Please email or call Bruce at 781-391-2604.

What's this about?

The Mystic River Watershed Association is providing web space for an extensive Water Chestnut Eradication website here.

This web page is meant to serve multiple functions:

1. describe current efforts in the Alewife Brook sub-watershed

2. map all infestations in the Mystic watershed

3. give data on other efforts in Charles and Connecticut Rivers

4. collect links to other web resources in one place for reference
