Massachusetts Water Watch Partnership   The Massachusetts Water Watch  Partnership (MassWWP) provides training and other technical assistance to citizen  organizations who conduct water quality monitoring programs on the lakes, rivers, and  estuaries of Massachusetts. 

Nonpoint Education for  Municipal Officials (NEMO)  NEMO is a University of Connecticut  Cooperative Extension System project using innovative techniques to teach local officials  about the sources and impacts of nonpoint source (NPS) pollution, how different land uses  affect water quality, and what towns can do to protect water quality. The unique  educational approach of the project is to use geographic information system (GIS)  technology to simplify and explain the complex relationship between land use to water  quality.

    Massachusetts  Watershed Coalition  The Massachusetts Watershed Coalition is a  network of organizations committed to the protection, management and enhancement of  Massachusetts' rivers and watershed ecosystems.

    The Medford Environmental Alliance MEA seeks to increase awareness and understanding of environmental issues, and participation in the community. By providing a network, it improves communication and coordination among groups and individuals working on environmental issues.

Hazardous Waste Sites

    EPA's Toxic Release Inventory  (TRI)   The Toxics Release Inventory contains information about releases and transfers of more than 650 toxic chemicals and compounds to the environment.

    DEP  Bureau of Waste Site Cleanup's Lists  This  BWSC site provides downloadable information on Superfund sites, Tier  I sites, and reportable releases across the state.

    Scorecard This Environmental  Defense Fund sponsored site has an Internet search tool which lists  local sources of pollution based on zip code, state, and country.

    The National  Library for the Environment   The "Your Neighborhood"  page provides informational resources about the environmental status  of your region, including toxic release information, color maps, and a link to the Environmental Defense Fund's "Scorecard" website.
