Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) about  water supply and sewage treatment in the Metropolitan Boston area. 

Executive Office of Environmental Affairs The umbrella department for
administering the following agencies.

Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is responsible  for protecting human health and the environment by ensuring clean air and water, the safe  management and disposal of solid and hazardous wastes, the timely cleanup of hazardous  waste sites and spills, and the preservation of wetlands and coastal resources.

Department of Fisheries, Wildlife & Environmental Law Enforcement (DFWELE): Riverways promotes the  restoration and protection of the ecological integrity of the Commonwealth's watersheds,  rivers, streams and adjacent lands.

Environmental Protection  Agency (EPA)   The EPA Home Page provides information  for students, teachers, businesses, citizens, and kids.  Information  includes programs, regulations and databases.

EPA Region I  EPA Region I includes New England.  The home page  provides links to information on funding, programs, data, regulations, and events.

EPA Office of Water  The Office of Water programs include wetlands, watersheds,  oceans,  groundwater, and wastewater management.

EPA Surf Your Watershed    Surf Your Watershed includes the EPA's  Index of Watershed Indicators, a Map Library, and a Data Catalog.

United States Geological  Survey (USGS), Water Resources   The US Geological  Survey has the principal responsibility within the Federal Government  to provide the hydrologic information and understanding needed by  others to achieve the best use and management of the Nation's water  resources.
