Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Mystic River Watershed Association. For the first 27 years of its existence, all programs were volunteer-run! Today, we have a staff of 3, but we still cannot accomplish what needs to be done without the dedication and commitment of many volunteers.

We need people to help out with the following kinds of projects:

Organizational Support
Field Work
Publicize Events River and Lake cleanups
Data entry/other office support. Water quality monitoring 2008 field and classroom training for new Water Quality Monitors will take place April 12, from 1-4:30. Please contact marybeth@mysticriver.org if you are interested in attending.
Review occasional technical documents. (e.g. Environmental Impact Reports) Shoreline Surveys. (Training provided).
Help with a mailing Help organize/lead a nature walk or canoe trip.
Art and Education
Advocacy/Awareness
Create educational brochures. Contact elected officials or local watershed groups.
Create a display for festivals. Serve on a Committee
Photograph watershed sites for documentation. Assist at the Annual Mystic Herring Run Festival (May), other festival,
or Town Day.
