Meet Our Summer Fellows

KC Coryatt joined the MyRWA team as a Summer 2023 Climate Resilience Fellow through their internship with the Yale Conservation Scholars. KC is a recent grad who earned their degree in Environmental Studies with a focus in policy, planning, and law from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). As a queer Afro-latine Brooklyn native, KC strives to fight for environmental justice as they directly experience and understand the inequalities faced by minoritized and marginalized populations. Through working with advocacy groups such as NYPIRG and engaging in several leadership positions on their old campus, KC has learned the importance of community engagement and the need to support and find strength in our communities in order to achieve climate resilience.

When they aren’t working, KC loves to do anything creative such as painting or crocheting and catching up on their favorite anime.

Hi, my name is Charlie DeMayo and I am super excited to join the MyRWA team as an Environmental Science and Stewardship Fellow for the summer of 2023. At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I am seeking a major in environmental science and a minor in natural resource conservation. From the Aberjona River to the Boston Harbor, and anywhere in between, I love exploring the watershed by foot, bike, or kayak. I am passionate about protecting this unique watershed’s biodiversity and ensuring that that is accessible and remains a vital part of the communities that it encompasses.

Hi, my name is Ava Driggers. I am a rising senior in highschool at Concord Academy, and a local Massachusetts resident. I’m passionate about environmental justice, as well as science and its impact on local communities. In my time at MyRWA I hope to learn more about how STEM and advocacy work impact local policy. In my free time, I enjoy music, visual arts, and spending time with my dogs. Pronouns: she/her

Hi, my name is ShaSha Kingston (she/her), and I am an Environmental Science and Stewardship Fellow joining MyRWA through the Tisch Summer Fellows Program. I am a rising senior at Tufts University, pursuing a triple major in Biology, Environmental Studies, and Psychology. I am interested in bridging hard science and social science through climate resiliency work and am excited to learn more about fieldwork and equitable community building with MyRWA this summer. In my free time I enjoy painting, jewelry making, biking, and being out in the sun!

Djoulissa Louis-Jean is a Haitian American joining MyRWA as a Climate Resilience Fellow for the Summer of 2023. After growing up in the tropical city of Miami, she became interested in the intersection between communities, the environment and public health. This led her to pursue a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies at the University of Central Florida, following up with a Masters of Science in Public Health at Tulane University in New Orleans. Her studies and community health work in New Orleans during the pandemic helped define her interests in preventing gentrification, food deserts and disease driven by climate change. In the Fall of 2023, she will be joining the Harvard Graduate School of Design to pursue a Masters in Urban Planning to build skills in creating spaces for BIPOC that are safe, accessible and resilient. In her free time, she enjoys watching and analyzing tv series, having picnics, and writing short stories.

Namaste everyone, my name is Jamuna Prajapati from Nepal and I am pursuing my Graduate degree in Environmental Science and Policy at Clark University, MA. This summer (2023) I feel so glad to work with MyRWA as a part of the 2023 Environmental Stewardship Fellowship. My previous masters was in Zoology so, I am interested in connecting species conservation with environmental sustainability. I am excited to work for community engagement or any outreach programs at MyRWA as I love to meet new people and share ideas about protecting water ecosystems. Beside these, I enjoy different cultures, hiking, travelling, bird watching, visiting museums and aquariums and trying new food.

Shovik Saha is a rising second-year student at Florida State University majoring in Environment and Society. Shovik joins MyRWA as a Climate Resilience Fellow for Summer 2023 through the Yale Conservation Scholars - Early Leadership Initiative program. Shovik is passionate about environmental justice and environmental policy. As such, he hopes to pursue a legal career as an environmental attorney to work towards fighting for the well-being of communities impacted by environmental injustices. In his free time, Shovik enjoys watching his favorite shows, taking scenic walks, and spending time with his friends and family.
